Benefits and Entitlements
If you are happy to liaise with the Local Authority once care/support need is identified, it is worth checking to see if you or your loved one are entitled to any benefits or entitlements to pay for it.
There are different types of care funding and you may be entitled to more than one of them. Some social care funding is means tested or health and ability tested, whereas others are not; this means you will need to disclose your financial and medical information to establish what, if any, funding you or your loved one are entitled to.
Payingforcare is an impartial and consumer friendly website providing information on all aspects of care funding including local authority assessments, care entitlements, costs of care and arranging care for someone else. There is a ‘live chat’ option so you can ask questions and discuss site content with a professional without picking up the phone.
