1. What types of temporary positions do you offer in the care industry?

Care and Support Work, Domestic, Catering roles within Social and Health care.

We are also an approved supplier for various roles within the NHS.

 

2. How do I apply for a temporary position with Care Connection?

Applying for a position with Care Connection couldn’t be easier! Click on the advert to apply, email us with your CV, or call us directly on the office contact number.

Alternatively, pop in to your local Care Connection office and speak to a Consultant for more information.

 

3. What qualifications or certifications are required to work as a temporary care worker?

You do not necessarily need any qualifications, some of our vacancies simply require previous experience within a similar role. We also provide you with competency checks to refresh previous knowledge if you do not have a formal qualification.

 

4. Can I choose my working hours?

Yes, you can select your working hours. Just tell us your availability we will offer you any work opportunities for when you are available.

 

5. What support and training do you provide for temporary workers?

We have local branches to support our temporary workers. Your local consultant is available every day 8am-5pm to speak to for support, and we operate an emergency on call telephone line for out of hours around this. We will support you through the registration process, we will competency check any training and experience you already have and discuss your preferences for work type suitability and when you want to work. We will allocate you e-learning modules and in person checks to ensure your skills and knowledge are kept up to date. If you do not have an enhanced DBS on the update service, we can obtain this for you. You will be given access to our “MYTBC” portal where you will have easy access to work handbooks and pay information.

 

6. How often will I be paid as a temporary worker, and what is the payment process like?

As a temporary worker for Care Connection you will be paid weekly.

Once you have worked your first weeks shifts you simply submit your timesheet to the office, we process your timesheet the following week, and you will receive your pay on the Friday.

Holiday pay is accrued additionally for each hour worked. This is paid out separately when you request it.

 

7. What is the average duration of a temporary assignment with Care Connection?

Assignments will vary, but can be 4-12hrs on average.

There is a minimum assignment of 6 hours in a Care Home setting.

 

8. Can I choose the locations where I work as a temporary care worker?

Yes, you can choose the location where you work and may decline any assignment offered to you. An advantage of Temporary work is that it can provide you with the opportunity to try new settings.

 

9. What safety measures are in place for temporary workers?

We take the health and safety of our temporary workers very seriously. There will be a Supervisor/Manager on shift you can report any concerns/issues to directly. We visit our clients' locations before offering any workers assignments, so we know what type of environment you are going to and to give you any health and safety specific information.

 

10. How do I report any issues or concerns during my temporary assignment?

There will be a Supervisor/Manager on shift you will report concerns/issues to directly. Your Consultant is available every day 8am-5pm to speak to also with any issues or support needs, we operate an emergency on call for any issues you need to contact us with out of hours.

 

11. Are there opportunities for career advancement as a temporary worker with Care Connection?

Many of our assignments offer a route into permanent employment. If this is something you would prefer please make us aware when applying.

 

12. How can I stay updated on available temporary positions and job openings?

Your consultant can update you regularly. We publish many of our positions on our website, and on social media.
